AEAlkaline Electrolysis
AE is a type of electrolyzer technology that is characterized by producing high-purity hydrogen through electrolysis using water as a raw material in an eco-friendly way without emitting greenhouse gases.
AE uses a porous membrane to separate the generated hydrogen and oxygen and uses an alkaline aqueous solution as an electrolyte.
AE’s initial installation cost is relatively low comparing other electrolysis technology as expensive metal is not required for its manufacture. In addition, AE is not only highly durable with long lifespan, but also suitable for large capacity power generation.

Current Status

SOEC is a technology that produces hydrogen by electrolyzing 700°C or even higher temperature steam using a solid oxide electrolyte. This method utilizes the phenomenon that the electrical energy required to decompose water becomes lower at high temperatures. High-efficiency water splitting is possible with a small amount of energy. In addition, it is highly resistant to corrosion and there is no need to replenish electrolytes which has the advantage of easy maintenance and repair. [under development]
